The Look: Aqua colour teamed with glowing skin & perfect brows! |
First... Perfect your skin. Focus attention on your eyes by covering any shadows with a good concealer, I recommend using something like Revlon PhotoReady Concealer (£6.49). Blend the concealer with your fingertip from the inner corners of each eye, under your lashline and around outer corners. A creamy concealer with a small amount of peach in it will neutralise the blue tone of dark circles under your eyes; if you're very shadowy, follow up with a reflective, under-eye highlighting pen.
After... Shape your brows. Brush your brows into shape, filling any gaps with a pencil or matte eyeshadow. Something like No7 Beautiful Brows Pencil should do the trick nicely (make sure it's a similar shade to your brows), then brush them through again to soften, neaten and to remove any excess product.
Then... Illuminate your eyes. Pastel eye shadows, such as a reflective aqua eyeshadow like Clarins Single Eye Colour in Icy Turquoise (£14.50), are big this season. Create a wash of colour over your eyelids and blend slighty up into the crease. Then add a lighter, more softer shade of blue from your crease out towards your brow bone. Trace a fine line of black or brown eyeliner along your upper lashline and load up your lashes with black waterproof mascara.
Finish With... Nude lips. As this look is all about the eyes, tone down your pout with a pinky-nude lipstick or gloss. If you have full lips, define them with a subtle shade of lip liner, then use it to tint the rest of your lips to avoid a washed out look.
I think the bright eye look is absolutely fantastic for the summer time, just to add a little pop of colour to your overall make-up to brighten up and awaken the eyes and to also draw attention to them; perfect!
