THE COUNT & SINDEN - MEGA MEGA REMIX DJ MIX...
Having emerged from a smoke filled warehouse to deliver their acclaimed debut album, the genre mashing ‘Mega Mega Mega’, The Count & Sinden take their work back underground with the release of ‘Mega Mega Remix’, a completely new version of the album remixed by some of today’s most exciting new producers.
The original’s riotous mish-mash of global beats, bass, rave stabs and massive pop hooks was one of 2010’s most exciting debuts featuring guest turns from the likes of Katy B, Mystery Jets, Rye Rye and Bashy. Now ‘Mega Mega Remix’ repeats the trick employing the likes of Canblaster, Lone, XXXy, Krystal Klear, D1 and Hot City to retool the album for dancefloors from Dalston to Rio.
This DJ Mix is provided courtesy of Sinden and gives you a preview of some of the tracks from the forthcoming ‘Mega Mega Remix’. Tracklisting below.

I'm also thinking of the idea of having a shaded dream catcher done on my right thigh.
Shaving Your Legs - Tips & Tricks!
Basically, the first thing I'm going to say is: DO NOT USE BIC RAZORS! (or any other disposable, cheap razors) you will literally nearly have your leg off with these things or for the most part, cut a chunk out while still having quite prickly legs too! Any kind of disposable Bic razor are just horrible, I personally really hate them and I've lost count of the amount of times I've nicked my ankles or actually just pulled out hairs instead of cutting them and left me with bleeding and irritated legs and also a few scars. Quite a lot of other people that I've asked, hate them also. Do not use any razor that looks like a Bic or has the same kind of style to them with just one cheap blade. They don't give you nice, beautiful and smooth legs but rather a prickly, cut up, bleeding and very irritated legs. So, stay away from them for your own safety and to avoid going to A&E for stitches!
I would recommend that you go out and buy just one really good razor that is not disposable but one so that you can just buy new tops of the razor head for when it becomes dull and blunt, something like a Gillette Venus Breeze razor from Boots or Superdrug for around £5-£10 depending on whether there is any offers on. Right now at Boots, there's 50% on selected Gillette Venus razors! I think that buying a much more expensive razor is a lot better and more efficient than buying lots of packets of cheap bic razors because you're really paying for what you get and the quality of the product and the effect it gives. Paying just that extra bit of money is really worth it!
If you really, really want smooth legs I suggest using a really good exfoliator first to get rid of any dead skin cells and ingrowing hairs (if you have a shaving rash or a burn I strongly discourage shaving for a while until it has cleared up and gone completely). Also, using soap is okay but sometimes it can also irritate your legs even more than shaving alone so I would recommend using something like either a hair conditioner you don't really like or buying a cheap conditioner to use just for shaving with as it will also help to soften and smooth your legs and make it easier to shave or alternatively buy an actual shaving foam, sensitive would be a great option to go for. Something like Gillette Satin Care Sensitive Skin Shave Gel with Aloe Vera. It is a slightly fragranced gel that rubs into a rich foam once applied onto wet legs evenly that is "advanced with lubricants which provides incredible razor glide for protection against nicks and cuts." Just to add in there that it does have a really nice light fragrance and also just to let you know that it does say it is best used with Gillette Venus razors as opposed to any other kind.
I did tweet a video last night that I watched on YouTube by TheRachelElleShow called "Shaving Your Legs 101" which inspired me to do this post as I've just recently bought a new razor due to continuously cutting and nicking my legs with cheap razors and soap and also getting a lot of shaving rashes urghh! I've also just bought the Gillette Satin Care Shave Gel to try as the one that I normally use that ran out wasn't there when I went to get it. Anyway, this is the video from Rachel, I really suggest you watch it, comment, rate & subscribe - enjoy! :)

DADA LIFE, THE SAUSAGE FATTENER PLUGIN...
Hook up this fat bastard to your favorite DAW (AU; VST on both PC/Mac) and get dirty.
The Sausage Fattener only has two knobs. But don't be fooled. With those seemingly simple parameters you can create loads of different sounds. Use the Sausage Fattener on a single channel with moderate settings as a musical compressor. Turn it up and you have a dirty bastard of distortion. But you can also use the plugin on a bus (for example all the drums and the bass) or the whole track as a mastering plugin.
The Sausage Fattener is used by Tiësto, Kaskade, Sebastian Ingrosso, Chuckie, Diplo, Laidback Luke, Chuckie, Hardwell, Henrik B, Angger Dimas, Frank E, Zedd, Lazy Rich, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, Marcus Schossow, John Dahlbäck and several other DJ/producers.
Check out the 'tutorial' below...
Laidback Luke on the sausage fattener:
"Ever since I stepped away from Fruity Loops I was looking for a plugin like this. And you did it. Instantly hooked, and loving it!"

A GUIDE TO IBIZA WITH MICHAEL WOODS...
...One thing that any first time visitor to Ibiza should experience?
Sunset at Cafe Del Mar/Cafe Mambo in San Antonio
...Favourite Ibiza restaurant?
Blue Marlin
...Best Ibiza memory?
Amnesia 2000, hearing my first production, Warrior - "Warrior" being dropped to 5000 pairs of raised hands.
...Favourite place to escape the crowds?
Portinatx
...Favourite place for pre-club drinks?
Bar M or Pacha Hotel - depending on which part of the island you're on.
...Favourite beach?
Beaches around Portinatx in the North of the island
...Favourite club to DJ at?
Amnesia
...Favourite club to party at?
Space
...Best place to recover from a hangover?
Somewhere in Bora Bora that serves alcohol 24/7
...Best place to watch the sunset?
Cafe Del Mar
...Best place for breakfast?
Las Salinas Beach
...Best lunch spot?
Ushuaia
...Insider tips of things to do?
I've been told that the Island is resting on a huge deposit of quartz, which has a natural vibrating resonance to it and this in turn has an effect on our bodies, giving us a natural feeling of euphoria and well-being, for this reason people are drawn to the Island.
I'd definitely recommend taking a trip up to the north of the island as the beaches are amazing there and as you get higher in to the mountains the views become spectacular. There's also the Cova de Can Marca (Caves) in San Miguel which is a must - there is so much to see and do in Ibiza I'd recommend to anyone to try to get some time to see what the Island has to offer.
...In one sentence, what makes Ibiza so special?
Ibiza creates magical moments that will live with you forever.

T IN THE PARK ANNOUNCES SLAM TENT LINE UP...
Every year since 1997 the Slam Tent at T in the Park has brought the world’s most prominent figures in electronic music to the fields of Balado. DF Concerts and founding partner Tennent’s Lager have now revealed the line up which will be curated by world renowned techno powerhouse Slam.
Joining an exceptional Slam Tent line up that already includes Leftfield (live), Felix da Housecat, Bloody Beetroots Death Crew 77 and Vitalic (live) are Dave Clarke, Tiga, Chris Liebing, DJ Sneak, Hudson Mohawke (live), James Holden, Craig Richards, The Black Dog and Mark Henning.
The ‘Baron Of Techno’ Dave Clarke will follow Leftfield (live) on Saturday night to bring the first day’s proceedings to a thundering close. He’s known for his forward thinking vision with sets that swoop along the cutting blade of techno and electro backed up by a seasoned bag of digital DJ tricks.
Over a decade after Tiga launched his career on a revolutionary Montreal radio station he’s still making some of the finest dance music around and is credited with producing some of the most iconic tracks of our generation including his cover version of Corey Hart’s ‘Sunglasses at Night’ and his remix of Felix da Housecat’s ‘Madame Hollywood’.
The sound of Chris Liebing has continuously evolved throughout his mammoth career, keeping up with the digital movement to a point where his current setup offers him practically endless possibilities. An Ibiza stalwart, Chris played the early days of ‘Cocoon Ibiza’ and cohosted the island’s biggest techno fiesta ‘Meganite’ with Mauro Picotto.
One of dance music’s true pioneers, DJ Sneak has the passion and drive to keep house music alive. DJ Sneak has helped shape the course of dance music since the early 90s; his early music influencing the likes of Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx and Armand Van Helden. His signature sounds – funky filtered disco-influenced house and tough, jacking beats – have revolutionised and redefined house music for well over 15 years.
Visit www.tinthepark.com for more info.
To be honest, I'd be happy with a weekend of JUST Death Crew '77. If you havent heard of them prepare to have your world rocked...

DIRTY SOUTH'S TOP 10 CLUBS...
Dragan Roganovic – known to his ever-growing legion of followers as Dirty South – is a Melbourne boy at heart, but ‘home’ has become a fluid concept in recent years. Dragan spends most of the year jetting around the world, playing his brand of euphoric, stadium-sized house to thousands-strong crowds.
The inkling of where Dirty South was headed came around 2004 with his first official production. From there, the originals and remixes kept coming, with the Dirty South EP boasting that blockbuster remix of Evermore, It’s Too Late. Next came the superstar hook-ups – How Soon Is Now with David Guetta and Sebastian Ingrosso to name just one – and life started to get pretty busy, pretty fast for the young studio whiz.
To put it lightly, 2011 finds Dirty South much in demand. After warming up for the Swedish House Mafia Miami Beach takeover in March, he’s now deep in a month-long circuit of North America’s most illustrious clubs, plus a return to the colossal stage at Electric Daisy Carnival. The Northern summer ahead looks suitably immense too: Ibiza with the Swedes, Mysteryland with just about everyone, a heaving tent at Global Gathering in the UK countryside, and so much more.
So... here they are. Dirty South's TOP 10 Clubs...
#10 Masquerade Motel, Miami
“I’ve been playing Ultra Music Festival in Miami during the music conference for the last three years so it was time to switch it up and play a new festival that was constructed literally on the beach. It was a beautiful set-up and the Miami crowd never disappoints!”
#9 Guvernment, Toronto
“Okay, so they spell the name a bit weird, not sure why. It could be some rebellion thing or who knows, but all I got to say is: the DJ booth is on hydraulics! It moves up and down as the DJ pleases, and in a cool way it interacts with the crowd. Amazing sound, CO2 [smoke cannons], horns and perfect crowd is what makes this superclub special. I play here couple of times a year and always look forward to it.”
#8 Electric Daisy Carnival, Los Angeles
“I played this festival last year and that was the biggest crowd I played in front of in my entire career. It was over 80,000 people in front of me on the main stage. I played the sunset time slot, which just added some extra goosebumps. This festival will move to Las Vegas this year, which I am also doing and I can’t wait to see what the Insomniac guys will put together. I’m sure it will be insane like last year!”
#7 Green Valley, Camboriu, Brazil
“Green Valley is kind of like an open-air club that could double as a mini-festival, as they fill it up with 6-7000 people. It’s always a trip getting here, but the experience is breathtaking. The sound, production, people and atmosphere is exactly how I like it and this is another place where I can play longer sets…and the CO2 just keeps coming!”
#6 Ministry Of Sound, London
“London has so much history, so every time I come here, there is always something new and interesting to learn. At the end of the day, my favourite thing about London is this nightclub. To me the most attractive thing is the sound, which is incredibly loud, but at the same time perfect. It’s the shape of a box, so they called it…The Box. UK crowds really get into it and get rowdy. I love that and appreciate it, that’s why this place makes the top 10 for me.”
#5 Prince of Wales, Melbourne
“This is literally close to home and it will always hold a special place in my heart. I built my Australian career playing for the Onelove guys at this venue and what an amazing venue it is. It has crazy sound and a really good layout. I did a special one-off event there last year and it was beyond perfect! I’m glad the venue is still running.
#4 Mansion, Miami
“Miami is a city that I really look forward to playing in. I have my residency at Mansion, which is a superclub that holds around 2000 people. Once again, a legendary venue and I always have an amazing time here. There is a certain energy with the crowd from Miami that is special, so no wonder they hold the Music Conference here every year.”
#3 Pacha, New York
“This is the best club in New York, and New York is such an amazing city. It is always very exciting when I come to this city. The club packs 2000 to 3000 people and the vibe is sweaty, dirty and crazy. The sound system is state-of-the-art and the DJ booth is louder then some clubs I’ve played at.”
#2 Coachella, California
“I played this festival in 2010 and I have to say as far as festivals go, this one was the best. The energy was insane. It was the most energetic hour of 10,000 people I’ve ever experienced at this legendary festival.”
#1 Avalon, Los Angeles
“This is just one of those epic venues! I love it every time I play there. People are really up for having a crazy night and I really enjoy playing here. I get to play four to five hour sets and do pretty much whatever I feel like, and the crowd just goes for it the whole night! I also live in LA now, so playing here is like a mini-homecoming.”

KRAFTY KUTS 'LET'S RIDE' FREE GIVEAWAY...
Effortlessly maintaining his legendary status worldwide, Krafty Kuts returns in 2011 with the dub laden soon-to-be anthem, ‘Lets Ride’.
A full-on peak time throbber, Lets Ride opens with an upbeat melody and smooth vocals, before breaking down into the eclectic, dub-oozing bass that has earned Krafty his stellar global reputation. Vocals come courtesy of US rap star, Sporty-O, who’s cool as f*** voice peppers the beats, insuring ‘Lets Ride’ will be one of the year’s biggest club releases of the year.
Ado’s Wild Side Remix does what it says on the tin, a foot pounder in its truest form. Sampling the deepest sounds from the original, Ado compiles a stomach churning rework. Solid, groaning bass works its way through the full four minutes and results in one hell of a crowd killer.
PYRAMID’s take on the track smashes in next, taking things deep down and brooding. Sped up vocals and the more electronic sounds of the original fire at different levels building incredible tension, before the dub comes back with unapologetic intent. Speaker dynamite. And due to the ever-increasing demand for PYRAMID’s genre-bending studio skills, the due have also turned out a Future Jungle Mix, which is guaranteed to keep the critics and fans of the consistently evolving genre extremely happy.
Tim Healey is up next to the remix draw and focuses on the catchy, cool vocal and more house driven sounds of the original. Before long we’re introduced to a rolling, melodic bass line that drives faultlessly throughout the track, before welcoming a veritable roof raiser of a dub breakdown.

DEADMAU5 LAUNCHES TOUCH REMIX APP...
Ever the trail blazer, deadmau5 is today proud to announce the release of a music industry first, a compilation album of his tracks available in a new release format, as a Remix App for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch - the deadmau5 Touch Remix App.
Music in its most pure form is just human communication. With deadmau5's live shows and releases that communication, by its nature, is only one-way. He performs and fans listen. With this remix-able album however that communication becomes a two-way road. People no longer just listen to the music, they can interact with it, change it and add their own creativity.
Utilizing the multi-touch features of the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch, the deadmau5 Touch Remix App is an innovative way for fans to interact with the music they enjoy and love. It gives them an unprecedented level of control and customisation over deadmau5's music, giving users the ability to remix their favourites. They can freely take loops from different tracks and mix them together. Next, they can apply effects to their remix, adding their own creativity. They can then Record their remix and share with friends on Facebook. Fans will also be able to enter their remix into a competition to win a custom, one of a kind deadmau5 iPad, loaded with all his music.
We are in the age of the prosumer, where the lines between people who consume/listen to music are becoming blurred with that of the producers. This remix album App introduces fans to the joys of being creative. Until now, technology did not permit this, but with the new generation of mobile touch devices, the work deadmau5 does on stage can now be recreated in a simpler form for everyone to experience.
Firmly established as one of the most innovative electronic live acts globally, deadmau5 has had an outstanding year. His driving foresight is constantly pushing the technological boundaries of his stage show. In May he unveiled the visual orgy of the cube stage and his highly anticipated L.E.D ‘mau5head’. The year climaxed with a 17,000 capacity sell out show at London’s Earls Court (the first ever electronic artist to headline the legendary venue) where he unveiled the 'touch screen', whose opacity allowed fans to enjoy his performance from a new perspective. The deadmau5 Touch Remix app reinforces his forward looking vision.
Key Features:
- A Remix-able compilation album of deadmau5 tracks.
- The App is available for all iOS devices, iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.
- The loops/clips of the album tracks are presented in a remix-able format.
- Freely take loops from different tracks and remix them. Add your own creativity to the music.
- Apply music effects Delay, Low DJ Filter, High DJ Filter, Loop) to your remix, in the same way deadmau5 does on stage.
- Move the device around to change the effects. Manipulate the music by movement.
- Record you remix and share with your friends on Facebook.

DEFECTED HEAD HOCHO, SIMON DUNMORE, INTERVIEW...
House has been – and for the foreseeable future looks like remaining – the cornerstone of the Ibiza scene. Ever since the island first gained notoriety at a hedonistic, music-lovers paradise it has the music of choice for the millions of visitors who now flock to the island’s shores each year. And while in recent years the arrival of alternative nights, such as those hosted at the infamous Ibiza Rocks hotel have become more prominent, house has endured, riding out the genre-splitting storms and club-closing catastrophes of the last few years.
For the last eight of those years, Simon Dunmore’s Defected has held down a summer residency, initially at El Divino before moving to Pacha in 2005 where they now command an enviable Saturday night slot. And for all of those years, Dunmore has dedicated himself to providing what he belives to be the true house sound, eschewing flash-in-the-pan trends for something he truly believes in. So it’s fair to say that house music is your things, there’s no-one who better equipped to give you want you want.
Now, with the start of the 2011 season just around the corner, we caught up with Defected’s founder to discuss the island’s new developments, creating the perfect Ibiza experience and how a trip to the White Isle can help you cope with the pressures of modern-day living.
Simon Dunmore Interview Ibiza 2011
T: What’s your general feeling about this year’s season? What are the things that are going to stand out for you? Is there any part of Ibiza that’s tailing off?
Simon: Very positive feelings for the season coming up. People make the effort to go out and enjoy themselves when times are a little bit tough. I think that we’ve had two years of tough recession and I think that letting off steam is ever more important to people so Ibiza is one of those destinations where people feel that they may be able to forget about the crap that they have to deal with in their life. So they make a real effort to go out there and blow off steam as with last year everyone was saying ‘it’s going to be tough’ but it wasn’t it was an amazing season. I think that were kind of coming out of the recession now so people have the need to party but they feel a little bit more confident about spending money so I’m predicting a bumper season.
What are the things that are going to stand out?
If you are really bling and you have pocketfuls of money then I think the new restaurant in Ibiza harbour which was El Divino and now been taken over by Pacha, I had a look at it s construction it looks pretty phenomenal. It’s the best vista on the Island at night where you are looking at the Dalt Villa in the port in amongst some yachts that cost literally millions of pounds, so if you’re feeling a bit flush that’s definitely the place to check out.
Also I think the buzz on the Island is the Ushuaia hotel, they’ve spent a phenomenal amount of money, rumour has it something like 22 million euro’s on the hotel. The pool looks absolutely incredible and I think that they’re going for the daytime VIP jet set kind of crowd. They’ve got some great DJ’s playing I know Luciano’s doing the opening party which gives it great credibility and I think it’s going to be a great place to go and visit. I think they’re the two standout new things that are going to have people buzzing and talking about the island.
T: Is anything tailing off?
No I don’t think so in fact I think everything is just getting better.
T: Is there a lesson that you learnt last year that you’re going to put into practice this year?
Simon: Yes think Big! It’s a really competitive island and if you go into your shell your going to get squashed so think big and compete, have the balls that you know your there for good reason and compete.
T: Is there any one story that is political or environmental to do with DJ’s or clubbing that is dominating everyone’s conversation at the moment?
Simon: Yes there is, apparently there’s a war going on between Space and Amnesia and I just think that people should focus on their own strengths and believe in themselves rather than trying to undermine someone or disrespect someone. Just focus on the positives of what you do rather than having your eye on everybody else.
T: Have you heard any tracks that are particularly standing out for you already this year?
Simon: As with most other people I’m only going to talk about our records, I think we have a few records and producers that were working with that I think are really going to come to the fall this season. We’ve signed an act called Human Life from Los Angeles who have got a track called ‘In it together’ they have delivered a great record and a great video, not many acts have the conviction to do that so I’m really excited about that.
We have signed a track called ‘Beat Me Back’ by Supernova it’s been in the Beatport top ten for almost four months and its one of those records that’s cross genre; House DJ’s will play it, Techno DJ’s will play it, Cheesy DJs will play it and I reckon that’s going to be the surprise across the board anthem in Ibiza this year.
Were working with Bob Sinclar he’s got a new record called ‘Far L’Amour’ yet to see whether it’s going to be released on Defected but I think its Bob’s best club record for several years. And then all the producers: ATFC, Chocolate Puma, Shapeshifters,Copyright,Rae are all super productive all with records coming out all going to do great they’re all playing at the party and they represent our sound really well musically and as DJs.
DJ’s and Venues or promoters that will draw the most attention this year outside of us?
Simon: I don’t know if there is a new producer or a new night that looks set to challenge the status quo, I just don’t see it. There are a lot of established nights around the island and the successful nights from last year are probably pretty safe in the knowledge that I don’t think that anything is biting at their heels. On the electro tip there’s nothing going to challenge Deadmau5 and on the Techno tip I don’t see anything challenging Carl Cox on the Deep House Tip I don’t see anything challenging Cadenza or the Swedes and Guetta who are so established. I don’t think there’s anything challenging Cocoon who have their place if you are into that minimal and techy sound. I don’t see anything else challenging those nights.
I think the only real positive change is Pete Tong going back to Pacha on a Friday night.
T: You will return to Pacha this year, how many seasons have you been there? What do you have in store for this year? What other nights are programmed around you?
Simon: We’ve been there 6 years. Every night at Pacha is a roadblock partly because it’s an amazing destination. I think it’s the most consistent and glamorous club on a night by night basis and also over the years it has the most heritage in the history of any club in Ibiza.
T: Would you say it’s the closest we’ve got to Studio 54 the Garage?
Simon: In as much as I think it’s a mixture of VIP, creative fashion people and pure clubbers. I think it’s the club with the most extreme mixture of people; Space is an amazing club and its well subscribed and attended but it’s one type of clubber, Amnesia again I think is another type of clubber. I think Pacha is a lot broader in the people that walk through the door so I think that gives it a lot more variety and makes it personally for me a lot more interesting.
We’ve got Tongy on the Friday night, Cadenza on the Sunday, Guetta on the Thursday, Swedes on the Monday, Morillo on the Wednesday and were in the middle of all of that! To actually succeed is really tough and I think musically we give something a little bit different than the other nights and I think that’s our calling card and it has to be about the music on our nights. We have a great selection of artists and a great selection of DJs that know how to rock a crowd on a Saturday I always say this; ‘we are a great Saturday night out’ that’s our calling card.
Where can we get a slice of the Defected sound before we try out your night in Ibiza? Do you have a radio show in Ibiza?
Simon: The Defected in the House radio show is syndicated around the world so you can check us out online and in many of the countries where the show is aired. For the Ibiza show on Global radio it goes out at a very specific time I think 6 to 7 o’clock on a Saturday night and that’s when people are leaving the beaches and just getting ready to go to sunset. We don’t want a show that’s going to bang the ass out of house music and trying to get people to dance, it’s just not an appropriate time to do that. We do a tailored made show where we have it a little bit laid back, you get a little bit of the flavour and a little bit of the vibe without trying to force people into dancing. It’s a listening experience and we have to make it appropriate to the moment in time. The Sun’s going down people are chilled, had a few drinks by the beach they’re in that frame of mind so the music suits. When you go to the club it’s a different experience we want you to have a good time and get your freak on or whatever so it’s a tailored show in Ibiza and I don’t think many people do that.
T: Your Ibiza mixes are legendary and you’ve done many what can you tell me about this years mix? Tell me about the overall vibe and feeling of the mix.
Simon: I’ve always said that house music is not a specific sound, labels that just release a specific sound or a specific genre of house just limit themselves and I think DJs that play a specific sound limit themselves. I think that the best and most experienced DJs are way more eclectic, take way more chances and are far more comfortable doing that. You can’t just go on and just play the fifteen biggest records, that’s not what DJing is all about that’s just being a jukebox and anyone can do that. The albums reflect the diversity of the labels that we are involved with, the producers we are involved with, our taste in music and the different scenarios in which house music can be played. Sure it’s meant to be played in a club and to make people dance and go crazy. It also transcends that it can be a bit more deep and melodic and a little bit more sensual and moody like I mentioned on the beach as the sun goes or at a pool party or it could be full on drug induced mayhem on the dancefloor and everything in between and I think that’s reflected on the album.
T: I’ve outlined a few producers of tracks on your mix. Tell me a bit about each producer and track and what your feelings are on them.
Simon : The Guti and Luca Buccetti track is interesting because they have very strong ties with Locodice and the Desolat label, they sent us the track I was very happy but surprised to receive the email. I downloaded the track and loved it, I think it has real soul and it’s great because we have our great roster of DJs that make great records for us and we only interrupt that schedule for special moments and I think this is one of those moments.
‘KOT feat April’ a follow up to a record that was Sandy going back to what I think he does best which is soulful house and this is a brand new track probably being released later in the Summer. April has got a great voice and is a phenomenal song writer and Sandy has just made great house music records for 15 years. What I think about Sandy has already been written many times before, he’s a cool dude and you’ve always got to keep your eye on him.
4th Measure Men one of the all time great house records from the early 90’s produced by Mark Kinchin, MK was absolutely the man when this record came out. We picked up this catalogue and I think we’ve shown him great respect with the producers we’ve chosen to remix. Maya Jane Coles a real buzz producer at the moment did a great job and it hit the Beatport and Traxsource top ten a classic record with some great remixes.
Frankie Knuckles one of the originators there are very few people that can say in any kind of walk of life or genre of music that ‘I was there’ and I was one the one of the people that made it happen and for that he gets total respect. He has consistently made great records for over two decades and ‘I’ll take you there’ is him almost going back to his Chicago roots and making a record with Jamie Principle, it’s an amazing emotive soulful house record.
Osunlade...his name and his label all evolves around him being a very spiritual person; he IS a very spiritual person! He’s really a cool dude and a great DJ; he makes music from his soul, plays music from his soul and lives his life from his soul. I’ve always got time for him and he’s just one of house music’s more interesting characters.
Guy Robin is a new kid 21 years old he makes music that’s way beyond his years he can make disco records, rock records and so on and is very eclectic. We need to define what his future is and where he can be best served musically but he definitely has a big future.
I also want to mention this kiddie Frankie Rizardo who did the remix on the Danism and Rae record called ‘You Will Remember’. He reminds me of DJ Gregory in the early years, in Holland they have a very close link with the Surinam and his beats have a real Caribbean vibe, he also has the influences of a kid growing up in todays scene with touches of the Dirty Dutch sound, the trance scene, the Swedish House Mafia and he’s blending all of that in. For me that’s all pretty exciting he’s 22 years old, he’s got a good look and a great sound and I’m loving what he’s doing.
What’s your ideal day out in Ibiza from start to finish how would it go?
Simon: For me its best if you can wake up early to get the early morning sun when it’s really fresh and not peeling your skin off. All of the beaches around Santa Eulalia where I stay I think are amazing, they’re all really under exploited not touristy and still have some sort original Ibiza Flavour about them. Cala Martina, Cala Pada, Nublau are all amazingly great beaches and you can just kick back and enjoy yourself and not be surrounded by thousands of people trying to find a spot on the beach, there’s just room and everybody’s kind of chilled and I love that. Theres plenty of restaurants and places where you can just go grab some sangria and Paella at any stage!!

DIPLO'S TOUR RIDER...
With DJs and dance acts criss-crossing the world on endless tour schedules, it’s fun to wonder what kind of perks and requirements go along with it all, especially when you get to the scenes big guns. Are David Guetta and Tiesto demanding dance divas? Does Roger Shah require freshly pressed white linen pants at every show? While we’ll probably never know the answers to those questions, Diplo has shown the world (re. the internet) his tour rider for his DJ shows and it is a serious doozy.
As posted on comedy website Funny Or Die, Diplo’s tour rider is a rather hilarious affair, with the Mad Decent head honcho detailing his essential items that range from the obvious to the outrageous.
As well as well DJ necessities like towels, ice and a few champagne bottles, Diplo’s rider gets a bit crazy with the inclusion of ridiculous requests for vintage Nintendo systems, the third season of Lost (on VHS, no less), a gorilla, as well as a framed picture of himself. Our personal favourite though is the request for a parrot that’s “trained to say your name”.
It’s (hopefully) obvious that the Major Lazer player is taking the piss with his rider, but we’d be pretty stoked to hear if a promoter actually got Diplo a Malawian orphan for the night.

THE LOST GENERATION EP…
Today is one of those days. Kinda like when you throw on a pair of jeans that have been sat at the bottom of your laundry basket for a couple of months, and find 20 quid in the back pocket.
The Lost Generation EP is what remains of a computer crash while StereoHeroes were last touring the USA.
Originally meant to be a hip hop EP with some high level MCs from France, all they could save was two wav files.
Effigy & Pixie.
StereoHeroes - The Lost Generation EP by StereoHeroes
I don’t really know what to say…
You know when you have a Wagyu, Sirloin become tastless...
Effigy has completely smashed my perception of what makes a great track. Benchmark reset.
Anyway, laters. I’m off to beatport to rinse StereoHeroes’s back catalogue…

Meet Thomas!
Hi lovely's! As some of you may know, my 17th birthday was yesterday and I received Thomas the Hippo as one of my presents from my mum along with lots of other goodies which I will share with you in a later post, maybe as one big mahusive birthday haul! Well, I'd really like you all to meet Thomas, mainly because I'm thinking of making him the mascot of my blog to help me sniff out the latest/best products to do reviews on, the latest offers in stores across the UK, helpful hits & tricks and 5minute make-up looks; although he sadly won't be helping me test them out as that would be animal cruelty but he can still tell me whether he likes the packaging and the smell and also other things too. He will probably also be hiding around in a few other photos too so keep an eye out for him in the near future! Let me know what you think of making Thomas my blogs mascot or say hi to him by commenting below! :)
