BEATPORT DONATING 100% OF DAY'S PROFITS TO JAPAN...
Amongst the outpouring of support for those affected by the ongoing crisis in Japan, dance music hub Beatport is doing its bit next Monday 21 March. Beatport will donate 100% of its day’s net proceeds to Japanese relief efforts.
“Beyond the fact that electronic dance music as we know it wouldn’t exist without Japan’s contributions over the years – just consider the numbers 303, 808, and 909 – the ongoing crisis in Japan affects us all, on a purely human scale,” Beatportal writes.
Revenue will be calculated minus royalties paid to labels and artists. Donations will be sent to the American Red Cross, Mile High Chapter, to be directed to the Japanese Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief.
If you’ve been holding off on tune shopping, this is the perfect opportunity to spend big.
